BBK Attorneys Named 2025 Southern California Super Lawyers® and Southern California Rising Stars

Best Best & Krieger LLP (BBK) is proud to congratulate Partners Sonia Rubio Carvalho and Seth Merewitz on being named 2025 Southern California Super Lawyers®, a recognition reserved for attorneys who have demonstrated exceptional legal skills and a strong reputation among their peers. Additionally, Associate Dana Lui has been named a 2025 Southern California Rising Star, an honor given to attorneys who have shown remarkable potential and outstanding performance early in their careers.

Carvalho, a member of BBK’s Municipal Law practice group, has been recognized for her extensive representation in state, local, and municipal legal matters. She offers general counsel to municipal corporations, specializing in land use, ethics, open government, and elections law while advising cities on a wide range of municipal legal matters. She has been named a Super Lawyer for 12 consecutive years.

Merewitz, a member of BBK’s Business practice group has been recognized for his knowledge and experience in land use and zoning. He provides advisory and transactional services related to public-private partnership (P3) transactions, working with public agencies, developers, and private entities on infrastructure projects, financing structures, and legal matters from due diligence through implementation. This marks his fifth consecutive year being named a Super Lawyer.

Associate Dana Lui, a member of BBK’s Labor & Employment practice group, was named a 2025 Southern California Rising Star for her work in Employment Litigation: Defense. Dana focuses on supporting public entities with labor and employment matters, providing counsel to school districts, cities, and other public agencies, while also defending employers in state and federal court on a range of legal issues. This is her second year being named a Southern California Rising Star.
