Best Best & Krieger LLP (BBK) is a sponsor of the 2025 National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors (NATOA) Annual Conference, August 18-21, 2025 in New Orleans, LA. BBK’s commitment to advancing telecom policy and advocating for local communities is reflected in the contributions of its speakers at this year’s conference. Three distinguished members of the BBK team, Partners Gerard Lavery Lederer and Tillman Lay, and Of Counsel Cheryl Leanza, will lead and participate in sessions designed to inform and engage attendees on the latest developments at the intersection of telecom policy, law, and public interest. Gerard Lederer will moderate a dynamic “beat-the-buzzer” style session where panelists will highlight the pressing legislative, regulatory, and legal developments impacting the telecommunications industry. Tillman Lay will discuss significant federal actions that have defined 2025, with a focus on public, educational, and government (PEG) access and cable preemption. Lastly, Cheryl Leanza will participate in a compelling panel discussion exploring the future of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the wake of recent court rulings that reduce judicial deference to agency decisions, and shifts in Commission priorities under new leadership. Additionally, Cheryl will have the distinguished honor of introducing Keynote Luncheon Speaker Mignon Clyburn, former Commissioner of the FCC, a nationally recognized voice for digital equity and public interest communications policy.
