Stephanie Veniez, an associate and member of Best Best & Krieger LLP’s (BBK) Education Law and Special Districts practice groups, has been appointed to the Office of Administrative Hearings (OAH) Special Education Advisory Committee. Veniez’s selection for a two-year term reflects her strong experience in representing school districts across California.

This milestone highlights Veniez’s passion for educational equity and social justice. Her practice is focused on representing public agencies, particularly K-12 and community college districts, in matters related to ADA accessibility, special education, and labor & employment. Veniez also works with school districts as a neutral investigator to investigate allegations under Title IX, the Uniform Complaint Procedures (UCP) including discrimination, and workplace investigations.

The OAH is a state agency in California that helps resolve disputes fairly and efficiently outside of the courtroom. Administrative Law Judges handle cases on a wide range of topics such as special education, public employment, and professional licensing by holding hearings and mediations. The goal of OAH is to provide an impartial process that gives people and agencies a fair chance to be heard and reach a resolution. The Special Education Advisory Committee meets regularly to provide recommendations for improvements to OAH's Special Education dispute resolution program.
