Ryan Stager is an associate in Best Best & Krieger LLP’s Municipal Law practice group. Ryan assists public clients in transactional matters concerning municipal government, with a focus on the First Amendment, land use and housing laws (including Density Bonus Law, the Housing Accountability Act, the Housing Crisis Act (SB 330), Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) and Senate Bill 9 (SB 9)).

Prior to joining BB&K, Ryan was an associate at a Sacramento-area water law firm, where his practice focused on assisting public and private clients with water and environmental issues. He also advised clients on Propositions 26 and 218, the Ralph M. Brown Act and LAFCO compliance.

While attending the University of California, Davis School of Law, Ryan earned Witkin Awards for Academic Excellence (highest grade in the class) in Business Associations, State and Local Government Law, Federal Income Taxation, Mergers and Acquisitions and California Environmental Issues. Outside the classroom, Ryan competed on behalf of his law school’s negotiations team and worked as a legal research and writing and study skills tutor.

Ryan grew up in Chico, Calif. and lives in Irvine. Outside the office, he enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants and exploring Southern California’s beaches and hiking spots.
