Aalia Taufiq

Aalia Taufiq is a litigation attorney in Best Best & Krieger LLP’s (BBK) Municipal Law practice group. She represents cities, counties, and public agencies in complex disputes involving nuanced regulatory frameworks and evolving statutory mandates. Her practice includes providing litigation, governance, and special projects counsel to public entities, elected officials, and agency leadership on matters involving administrative operations, regulatory compliance, public works, contract disputes, fiduciary duties, and public transparency laws.

Clients turn to Aalia for her sharp writing, practical litigation judgment, and ability to manage high-stakes matters with precision. She regularly handles dispositive motions, writ petitions, appellate briefs, and other critical filings—including matters before the California Supreme Court. Her litigation strengths are matched by her ability to distill complex regulatory issues into clear, actionable strategies for public-sector clients.

Before joining BBK, Aalia practiced in the San Francisco office of a mid-size law firm where she focused on public pensions and benefits, complex commercial litigation, insurance recovery, and appellate advocacy.

Outside of work, Aalia enjoys exploring California’s terrain through gemstone mining and mineral hunting. She is also an avid macramé artist and enjoys spending time with her two cats and a revolving cast of geese and ducks.
