Alison Bassett represents a broad range of health care providers across all aspects of medical practices and operations, with a focus on transactional work and regulatory compliance. Over the past few years, she has been dedicated to analyzing fast-moving legal and regulatory issues arising from the COVID-19 pandemic, providing critical and timely advice on a host of issues ranging from federal, state and local regulatory compliance to funding opportunities under various government relief packages.
Alison represents health care districts, nonprofit health care systems, hospitals, medical groups and community clinics in a variety of matters ranging from health care acquisitions and affiliations, real estate leasing arrangements, and regulatory and compliance issues. She also provides clients with advice and counsel relating to federal health care law and regulations, including the Stark Law and the Anti-Kickback Statute, as well as California health care law and regulations (e.g., the Local Health Care District Law).
Alison has more than 20 years of combined health care, real estate, corporate, finance, and mergers and acquisitions experience. This includes several years of experience working in-house for a nonprofit health care system in Northern California, where she managed contract negotiations for five hospitals and the system’s extensive owned and leased real property portfolio, and 15 years of transactional legal experience servicing public and private entities in Southern California and New York. She leverages this extensive transactional experience and her business insight to alleviate risks and assist health care clients in making decisions amid a dramatically evolving regulatory framework.
