BBK Partner Alison Bassett Appointed to National and State Leadership Roles with AHLA and CSHA
An Opportunity to Provide Strategic Guidance and Insight on Emerging Healthcare Law and Policy Issues
Best Best & Krieger LLP (BBK) health care attorney Alison Bassett has been appointed to serve as Vice Chair of the Hospitals and Health Systems Practice Group of the American Health Law Association (AHLA) and has also been appointed to the California Society for Healthcare Attorneys’(CSHA) Publications Committee.
Bassett will serve as AHLA’s Vice Chair of the Hospitals and Health Systems Practice Group beginning in July 2026 for a three-year term. In her role as Vice Chair, Bassett will help advance the association’s mission by supporting the development of health law content and fostering a diverse, engaged professional community.
In her role on the Publications Committee with CSHA, Bassett will contribute to the development of two publications: California Health Law News, a quarterly publication, and CSHA’s weekly newsletter, The Weekly. Bassett’s breadth of experience positions her well to contribute meaningful insight to CSHA’s publications and to help inform practitioners on current and emerging healthcare law developments.
Bassett brings more than 25 years of legal experience, including more than a decade advising healthcare organizations on complex transactions and regulatory matters. This includes healthcare purchase and sale transactions, hospital and clinic affiliations and compliance with state and federal healthcare laws. Bassett’s work with public entities, nonprofit health systems and healthcare districts gives her a deep understanding of the evolving legal and policy issues facing healthcare providers in California.
