Best Best & Krieger LLP (BBK) is excited to share that Partners Christopher Deal, Scott Ditfurth, Richard Egger, Christopher Pisano and Patricia Ursea have been named to The 2026 Lawdragon 500 Leading Litigators in America guide. Christopher Deal has been recognized as a leading litigator for his work in Litigation, Insurance and Financial. Deal is a member of BBK’s Business Litigation practice group, where he focuses on litigation involving title and escrow liability, lien priority disputes, mechanic’s liens, boundary disputes and lender liability. Deal represents title insurers and their insureds, lenders, escrow companies and developers in litigation involving real estate, business and corporate disputes. He also advises title, escrow, and operations units on regulatory matters and pre-litigation issues.
Scott Ditfurth is a civil litigator and member of BBK’s Business Litigation practice group, where he works with both public and private clients. Ditfurth has been acknowledged by Lawdragon as a leading litigator for the second consecutive year for his work in business litigation, public entity and real property. Practicing in state and federal courts, Ditfurth’s practice encompasses all stages of litigation for his clients in various settings.
Richard Egger has been recognized as a leading litigator for his work with public agencies and in business litigation. Egger is a member of BBK’s Business Litigation and Public Agency Litigation practice groups and also serves as the firm’s general counsel. He advises and represents clients on compliance with the Brown Act and the Public Records Act and also handles strategic problem solving in complex litigation matters in federal and state courts.
Recognized as a leading litigator for his second consecutive year, Christopher Pisano represents public agencies and private corporations in a multitude of litigation matters involving land use, property valuation, water rights, health care litigation, unfair competition, inverse condemnation, construction, civil rights and general business disputes. Acknowledged by Lawdragon for his work in public agency litigation, specifically land use, Pisano has represented the County of Los Angeles and the Housing Authority for the City of Los Angeles in class action and representative action litigation for housing and employment benefits.
Patricia Ursea, practice group chair of BBK’s Litigation Coordination group, has been honored as a leading litigator for the second consecutive year for her work in public agency litigation. With over 23 years of litigation experience, Ursea possesses a strong background in serving public agencies as in-house and as outside counsel, with a specific focus on constitutional torts involving free speech, searches and seizures and due process, class actions and writs of mandamus. Additionally, Ursea works with private clients on business matters, including insurance coverage defense, mass torts, antitrust and healthcare.
