Best Best & Krieger LLP (BBK) is a sponsor of the League of California Cities 2024 City Clerks New Law and Elections Seminar taking place December 11-13, 2024 at The Meritage in Napa, California. During the three day conference, Director of PRA Services and E-Discovery Counsel, Darren Ziegler, Municipal Analyst Jennifer Ransom and Of Counsel William Priest will address various topics important to city clerks and staff members. Ziegler and Ransom will provide guidance on how to respond to California Public Records Act (CPRA) requests as they relate to election records. Ziegler will also present highlights of the previous legislative session and address new bills related to open meetings, records and how to implement legislative solutions to future challenges faced by industry professionals. Priest will close out the conference with a presentation on the municipal election process, including a look at less common types of local elections.
