Edgar “Eddie” Miranda
Eddie Miranda is an associate in Best Best & Krieger’s Public Finance practice group. Eddie’s practice is largely focused on serving public agencies as bond counsel, disclosure counsel, and underwriter’s counsel in issuing Marks-Roos Joint Financing Authority lease or enterprise revenue bonds, Mello-Roos bonds, assessment district bonds, revenue bonds, pension obligation bonds and certificates of participation. He is responsible for drafting key documents pivotal in the public finance transaction process such as offering documents, trust agreements, indentures, and resolutions, as well as conducting legal research and due diligence related to required disclosures under Rule 15c2-12 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934.
Prior to joining BBK, Eddie worked at a law firm in Newport Beach as a public finance associate representing various public entities including cities, counties, water districts, school districts, JPAs, utilities agencies, and community facilities districts He has also represented a number of public agencies in connection with the negotiation of Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act loans and master agreements with the United States Environmental Protection Agency .
Eddie served in the United States Marine Corps from 2007-2015 and was Honorably Discharged as a Sergeant. He was also deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom with the 1st Marine Division. In law school, he was a student attorney for the Boston University School of Law’s Immigrants’ Rights and Human Trafficking Clinic; interned for the Criminal Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office, District of Massachusetts; was an active member of the Boston University Latin American Law Student Association; and was the President of the Boston University School of Law Student Veterans Association.
