BB&K Partner Appointed to the Bench
Kara Ueda Will Serve on the Sacramento Superior Court
Best Best & Krieger LLP Partner Kara Ueda was appointed to the Sacramento County Superior Court by California Gov. Gavin Newsom. The appointment was announced Friday by Newsom.
In an article published Saturday in the Daily Democrat, City of Woodland vice mayor Tom Stallard said Kara has been an “outstanding attorney” for the City. Kara has served as city attorney to the City of Woodland for about 7 years.
“I have truly enjoyed being the city attorney of Woodland since the Council appointed me in 2013 and am thankful to work with both talented and dedicated City Council members and city staff who are all committed in their mission to serve and help the city,” Kara said, according to the newspaper.
Kara is in BB&K’s Municipal Law practice group and has served as city attorney or assistant attorney to a number of California cities. She is also St. Helena’s city attorney. Prior to joining BB&K, she was with McDonough Holland & Allen PC. Previously, she was deputy general counsel to the League of California Cities — an organization she remained active with even after going into private practice. A graduate of the University of California, Davis School of Law, she serves her alma mater as an adjunct law professor.
