Best Best & Krieger LLP Trusts & Estates Of Counsel Christine Chacon recently shared some key estate planning considerations with Inland Empire Magazine. In the column, “Is It Time to Call a Lawyer?” Christine notes that it’s important to provide trustees, estate executors and attorneys with access to online accounts, as this can be critical to ensuring bills are paid, policies are updated and social media accounts are handled appropriately after death.
She also notes the importance of succession planning. “If a small business owner is incapacitated or dies, especially if it’s unexpected, their partners, employees and families will have difficult choices to make if there isn’t a plan in place.”
