Tooba Naveed is an associate in Best Best & Krieger LLP’s Labor and Employment practice group in the Sacramento office, where she represents public and private employers in a wide range of workplace matters. Her practice includes the defense of claims involving discrimination, retaliation, and harassment under FEHA, wage-and-hour disputes, and PAGA actions. She also advises employers on compliance issues, handbooks and workplace policies, and day-to-day personnel and employment decisions.

Before joining Best Best & Krieger, Tooba developed a legal background in employment law, civil litigation, and municipal law. She has experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants in employment matters, provided ethics training for public entities, and counseled public and private employers on workplace disputes. She has also assisted clients on compliance with land use regulations and property rights.

Tooba graduated from the University of Pacific, McGeorge School of Law with distinction and as a member of the Traynor Honor Society. She served as Chief Comment Editor of the University of the Pacific Law Review, published two scholarly articles, and received recognition for her work as a student attorney in the Immigration Clinic. She remains committed to pro bono work by continuing to provide voluntary legal assistance to immigrant and refugee communities.

Outside of her practice, Tooba enjoys traveling and exploring California’s natural landscapes. She comes from a family of business owners involved in tire and wheel retail, wholesale, and recycling throughout California, an experience that informs her interest in working with local minority-owned businesses in her community. She values time spent with her family and her two cats and loves to read and paint.
