Scott Shapses

Scott Shapses advises public entity clients on their day-to-day legal needs, practicing as a member of Best Best & Krieger’s Municipal Law practice group. Scott has specific experience with real estate matters, criminal matters, and analyzing and drafting contracts. His clients appreciate his zealous approach to representation.  
 
Scott is passionate about working with cities and other public clients because he believes that the greatest changes in a community happen at the local level. Previously, Scott held externships with the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Central Trials and White Collar Crime/Real Estate Fraud divisions. In these roles, Scott successfully argued preliminary hearings and motions before the court. 
 
Before law school, Scott worked for an electric vehicle car sharing start-up that helped cities reduce vehicle traffic and emissions. In his spare time, he plays chess, hikes and enjoys improvised and written comedy.
