Sam Bidgoli
Sam Bidgoli is an associate in Best Best & Krieger LLP’s Municipal Law practice group. Sam has experience advising various public agencies, including cities and local education agencies, throughout California on a variety of matters.
Sam’s practice generally encompasses an array of land use matters and involves ensuring that his clients understand California’s ever evolving housing laws. He also assists clients with following the statutory surplus property disposition process when selling or leasing property and complying with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
Additionally, Sam advises clients on a broad range of open government and ethics issues, including matters regarding the Brown Act and the California Public Records Act (CPRA). He also assists clients with making necessary disclosure and remaining compliant with the Political Reform Act and Government Code section 1090. Sam also has experience with responding to inquiries and investigations from the California Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC). Moreover, he has provided counsel for issues concerning the California Voting Rights Act.
While in law school, Sam was a law clerk for the United States Senate Rules Committee, and interned for the California Attorney General’s Office, the San Francisco City Attorney’s Office, and the Los Angeles County Counsel’s Office. He was also a Post-Bar Law Clerk for the Oakland City Attorney’s Office. Sam was the recipient of the UC Law SF Leadership Award for his work as the President of the Iranian Law Students Association. Additionally, he served as a Staff Editor for the UC Law SF International Law Review and a Senior Acquisitions Editor for UC Law Constitutional Quarterly.
In his free time, Sam enjoys playing basketball, watching the Los Angeles Lakers, cooking, and trying new restaurants.
