Oscar Becerra
Oscar Becerra is an Associate in the Municipal Law practice of Best Best & Kreiger LLP (BBK), where he focuses on affordable housing and real estate transactions. He supports public agencies, developers, and affiliated entities in matters involving the development, acquisition, financing, and disposition of real property, with an emphasis on affordable and multifamily housing projects. Oscar is committed to providing practical, responsive counsel that helps clients navigate complex regulations and move their projects forward efficiently.
As part of his practice, Oscar assists clients with affordable housing transactions involving a variety of public and private financing sources and regulatory programs. His work includes supporting matters involving federally funded housing initiatives, housing tax credit developments, and other government assisted housing programs. He helps clients navigate federal funding requirements and procurement obligations. He also assists with general real estate transactional matters related to commercial lending, development, acquisition, and disposition of multifamily housing projects.
Before joining BBK, Oscar represented real estate developers and community associations including property owners’ associations, condominium, commercial, and master-planned communities throughout Texas, where he advised clients on corporate governance, development, and operational matters. He also represented community associations in deed restriction enforcement and assessment collection matters, including litigation, which provided him with valuable insight into risk management, compliance, and dispute resolution affecting communities. This experience gives Oscar a practical understanding of the legal and business considerations involved in housing development, from initial structuring through long term ownership and operation.
Oscar lives in Houston and enjoys exploring the city’s diverse restaurant scene and attending local arts and cultural events.
