Mechellé Andrade
Mechellé Andrade is a Public Records Act Analyst focusing on public law, records management, and compliance to help municipalities, government agencies, and public entities navigate complex records requests and minimize risk of disclosure issues. She partners with clients to provide clear, timely guidance on transparency requirements while balancing sensitive information, always emphasizing practical solutions and excellent client service. Mechellé advises on a wide range of records-related matters, including intake, review, redaction, and response strategies for Public Records Act requests. She collaborates closely with agency staff and legal teams to streamline compliance processes and reduce exposure to litigation.
Prior to joining Best Best & Krieger, Mechellé worked for the County of Los Angeles, County Counsel, where she developed extensive legal and records experience. In the Dependency Division of County Counsel, she handled a variety of legal matters including restraining orders and the management of sensitive juvenile case records governed by Welfare & Institutions Code section 827. She later served in the Peace Officer Records Division, where she supported law enforcement agencies in responding to complex records requests and ensured compliance with statutory and privacy obligations. These roles gave her a strong foundation in balancing transparency with confidentiality in high-stakes legal contexts.
Mechellé is passionate about supporting her community and enjoys volunteering in church-based outreach programs and youth mentorship. Originally from California, she now resides in the Dallas–Fort Worth area with her husband and son. In her free time, she enjoys going to family friendly events, exploring new local restaurants, traveling out the country, watching psychological thrillers and listening to podcasts and audiobooks and spending time outdoors with her young son and small dog.
