Kate Peters is an associate and member of Best Best & Krieger’s (BBK) Municipal Law practice group. She provides assistance on legal research and writing focusing on a variety of matters related to municipal government. 

Kate began her work at the firm as a summer associate. Prior to that, she was a civil rights litigation clinical student at the University of California, Irvine School of Law and a legal intern at the San Diego Office of the Public Defender. 

From 2022 to 2024, Kate served as student leader and pro bono volunteer for the Expungement Project, part of the Orange County Clean Slate Clinic in Santa Ana, CA. In this role, she assisted clients with the conviction expungement process by helping them complete expungement petition forms, fee waivers and draft persuasive client declarations for expungement and sealing of arrest records. She led project and clinic sessions by coordinating with Community Legal Aid SoCal and attorneys to manage student volunteers.

While not working, Kate is an avid reader, hiker, and yogi.
