Brittany Bruce

Brittany Bruce is an attorney with Best Best & Krieger LLP’s (BBK) Advanced Records Center, focused on municipal law, with an emphasis on compliance with the California Public Records Act (CPRA). Prior to becoming an attorney, Brittany developed a deep familiarity with Public Records Act compliance while working as a municipal paralegal. This experience has provided Brittany a practical, solutions-oriented approach to advising public agencies on government transparency. Brittany regularly assists municipalities with responding to public records requests, conducting exemption and privilege analyses and developing internal procedures to ensure consistent compliance. Understanding the scrutiny public agencies face, Brittany works to provide timely, defensible, and well-documented responses.

 Prior to joining BBK, Brittany worked as a paralegal at the City Attorney’s Office in the City of Stockton. The areas she focused on at the City Attorney’s office included all aspects of civil litigation support and Public Records Act requests. She also served as a liaison between the City and outside counsel, as well as with the City’s Joint Powers Authority. With more than 20 years of experience in the legal field, Brittany brings a broad range of experience to BBK.

 Aside from work, Brittany enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends.
