Best Best & Krieger LLP (BBK), in collaboration with the Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA), is proud to announce Christina Huang as the recipient of the 2025 Arthur L. Littleworth Best Best & Krieger Scholarship. This annual $10,000 scholarship was established in 2022 to honor the legacy of Art Littleworth, a revered BBK partner, water law pioneer, and dedicated civil rights advocate.

A graduating senior from Castro Valley High School, Huang has demonstrated a remarkable dedication to advancing the future of California’s water infrastructure. Her passion for water resources began at a young age, having grown up amid California’s frequent droughts. From interning at the East Bay Municipal Utility District to analyzing urban water issues as a NASA SEES research intern, Huang has already made meaningful contributions to water sustainability efforts before beginning her college journey.

Huang’s hands-on experiences also include serving as a member of the Castro Valley Sanitary District’s Community Advisory Committee, the only high school student to do so, and leading local environmental initiatives through organizations like ForestR.org. Her projects, from bioswale construction to stormwater runoff management, underscore her commitment to real-world impact and environmental equity.

This fall, Huang will begin her undergraduate studies at the University of California, Berkeley, with plans to major in civil engineering and pursue a career as a water resources engineer. Her goal is to design sustainable infrastructure that can withstand California’s dynamic climate conditions, including droughts, wildfires, and floods.

The Arthur L. Littleworth Scholarship supports undergraduate students who demonstrate a passion for and career trajectory in water law, public policy or related fields. The recipient also receives mentorship opportunities with BBK and an invitation to attend ACWA’s annual Spring Conference.

BBK and ACWA are honored to support Christina Huang’s vision for a more sustainable and resilient future for California’s water.
