Maya T. Carlin is a paralegal in the Municipal Law practice group of Best Best & Krieger LLP. She has over a dozen years of experience working in the legal field, and over two decades of experience in real estate, project management and construction. Maya’s work as a paralegal focuses on municipal law, real estate and code enforcement, and she  assists attorneys with receiverships, nuisance abatement proceedings, and inspection and abatement warrants among other responsibilities.

Prior to joining BBK, Maya worked for the City of San Diego, City Attorney’s Office and insurance defense and private law firms, gaining experience in various areas of practice including civil litigation, construction defect, environmental and advisory law. She also held her California real estate salesperson’s license from 2000-2016.

Maya graduated from UC San Diego’s ABA Paralegal Certificate program. She earned a bachelor of fine arts, cum laude, in public relations and world literature from Long Island University. She received her Certified E-Discovery (CEDS) designation in March 2021.
