Kelsey Luu
Kelsey Luu is of counsel and a member of Best Best & Krieger LLP’s (BBK) Business practice group, where she delivers strategic insight and has a proven record of resolving complex real estate and mortgage litigation. Known for her subject matter depth in title insurance, foreclosure law, and bankruptcy proceedings, Kelsey offers clients practical, forward-thinking solutions in an evolving regulatory environment.
Kelsey’s practice is supported by years of experience representing mortgage lenders and servicers in contested foreclosure actions, title curative claims, and adversary proceedings in federal bankruptcy courts. As Supervising Attorney for Complex Litigation and Bankruptcy at her previous firm, she has successfully managed high-stakes litigation across state and federal jurisdictions. Her extensive experience in evidentiary hearings in both state and bankruptcy courts has consistently resulted in favorable outcomes for clients, reflecting her meticulous preparation and strategic precision. By combining effective case strategies with skilled negotiation and strong courtroom advocacy, Kelsey ensures that her clients receive superior representation throughout the legal process. She also excels in handling appellate cases, further demonstrating her dedication to achieving client success.
She also routinely advises on regulatory compliance involving the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Truth in Lending Act (TILA), and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), and has trained attorneys and staff on legal developments in the mortgage industry. Her work is marked by a keen understanding of legal risk, an eye for procedural nuance, and strong courtroom advocacy.
Kelsey is an active member of the Orange County legal community. She serves on the Orange County Bar Association Legislative Resolution Committee and recently advanced a resolution to amend Civil Code section 2924m to the California legislature. She is also a member of the Orange County Asian American Bar Association and the Vietnamese American Bar Association of Southern California. In recognition of her leadership, she was selected as a 2025–2026 Fellow of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association’s Leadership Advancement Program—an honor limited to just 24 attorneys nationwide. While in law school, she was the Article Editor of the International Law Journal.
Originally from Vietnam, Kelsey immigrated to the U.S. at age 12. Her personal story fuels a lifelong commitment to service and opportunity. She serves on the boards of transcenDANCE and Project Youth OC, helping youth in underserved communities find their voice. Outside the office, she enjoys yoga, fitness, and discovering new local restaurants.
