Frank Groundwater
Of Counsel Frank Groundwater brings more than 30 years of committed legal advocacy to the Business, Trusts & Estates and Real Estate practice groups of Best Best & Krieger LLP (BBK). Frank’s clients look to him for trusted and effective legal advice on their complex business and real estate transactions, taxable estate planning, will and trust drafting, probate and trust administration, and tax matters.
Prior to joining BBK, Frank had his own law practice in Bend, OR, where he provided legal counsel on estate planning and commercial and residential real estate matters. He spent most of his legal career with Fristoe, Taylor & Schultz, Ltd, PS, in Olympia, Washington where he focused on estate planning, probate and trust administration, and real estate.
Active in the community, Frank served as the president of the board of directors for BendFilm, which promotes the transformative power of independent cinema in Bend and the surrounding area. For 16 years, Frank used his legal background to handle unclaimed and indigent decedents of Thurston County on a pro bono basis. He also directed the Thurston County Bar Association’s “Adopt-A-Family Program”, a program benefitting the county’s families in need.
He lives with his wife and daughter in Bend, where he indulges his passions for live music, his dogs, cooking, skiing, fly fishing and tending to his bees.
