Isabel Cruz

Isabel is an associate and member of Best Best & Krieger LLP’s (BBK) Municipal Law practice group. As an associate in municipal law, Isabel advocates for cities, counties and public agencies in legal disputes before state court. By balancing aggressive courtroom advocacy with strategic dispute resolution, Isabel's focus is on protecting public resources, mitigating liability and advocating for the legal interests of the communities she serves.

Prior to joining BBK, Isabel practiced as a civil defense associate with a focus on municipal law, where she managed key phases of public sector litigation. In this role, she routinely conducted legal research, directed comprehensive discovery strategies and drafted and filed critical pleadings and dispositive motions. Additionally, Isabel prosecuted municipal code violations, successfully guiding enforcement actions to safeguard community welfare and maintain regulatory compliance. She also gained significant experience assisting a court-appointed receiver for a public water utility.

Outside of her legal practice, Isabel enjoys spending quality time with her family and finding balance outdoors. Whether she is relaxing at the beach, working in the garden or enjoying the company of loved ones, she cherishes these moments to recharge and stay connected to the community she serves.
