BBK Honored with CALAFCO’s Associate Member of the Year Award
Award Recognizes BBK’s Longstanding Partnership and Support for CALAFCO and LAFCO Community
Best Best & Krieger LLP (BBK) was honored to receive the California Association of Local Agency Formation Commissions (CALAFCO) Associate Member of the Year Award at the 2025 CALAFCO Annual Conference Awards Banquet in San Diego. The recognition highlights the firm’s ongoing commitment to supporting CALAFCO and the broader LAFCO community through collaboration, professionalism and dedicated legal service.
The Associate Member of the Year Award recognizes individuals or organizations that continually provide meaningful engagement and actively strengthen CALAFCO’s mission. In presenting the award, CALAFCO noted BBK’s exceptional support during a period of transition and revitalization, growth and reorganization for the association. BBK LAFCO attorneys played a key role in the comprehensive overhaul of CALAFCO’s policies and bylaws, helping to ensure its governance framework remains clear, consistent and strategic for future growth.
BBK also assisted CALAFCO’s Board of Directors in recruitment efforts for an Interim Executive Director, offering guidance on contract language and supporting smooth leadership transitions. Throughout 2024 and 2025, the firm continued to provide thoughtful legal insight, policy review and governance advice to help CALAFCO stay aligned with its mission.
BBK’s LAFCO team, led by long-time attorney Clark Alsop, has been instrumental in the firm’s decades-long relationship with CALAFCO and local agency formation commissions statewide. The award also serves as recognition of Clark’s exceptional service to the LAFCO community and his leadership in building BBK’s public agency practice.
