Kurt Barker was selected for his work in Employment Litigation, Discrimination and Harassment. Barker leads BBK’s Labor & Employment practice group and represents employers in a wide range of workplace matters, including discrimination, harassment, wage and hour disputes and trade secret enforcement. He is also an experienced litigator, handling fiduciary disputes, trust and estate matters and complex business conflicts in both state and federal courts. Beyond litigation, Barker is a speaker and trainer on employment law topics, frequently presenting to employers, managers, and industry groups across Oregon.
Cecilia Martin was recognized for her work in Labor & Employment, with a focus on complex employment litigation. Martin represents both public and private sector employers, as well as executives, in high-stakes employment disputes ranging from wage and hour claims to harassment, discrimination and retaliation matters. She also counsels organizations on critical business and workplace issues, including employee classification, terminations, leave laws and compliance with payroll and personnel regulations. Known for her strategic and collaborative approach, Martin partners closely with in-house counsel and HR leaders to mitigate risk and develop practical solutions.
Michael Travis was selected for his work in Labor & Employment, with a focus on representing public agencies. Travis advises cities, counties, schools and other public entities on labor, employment, and governance matters, from personnel decisions and internal investigations to administrative hearings and policy development. He has experience with the Public Safety Officers and Firefighters Procedural Bill of Rights Acts, and frequently leads sensitive investigations involving discrimination, harassment, and workplace culture.
