Caroline Martin
Caroline Martin is a member of Best Best & Krieger LLP’s Environmental Law & Natural Resources Practice Group in the firm’s Bend, Oregon office. She advises clients on land use and planning issues, state and local government regulations, water rights, energy planning and siting, and employment law. She enjoys helping clients reach solutions by studying the intricacies of state and local laws.
Before starting at BB&K, Caroline clerked for an Associate Justice on the Supreme Court of North Carolina. She assisted the Justice by drafting opinions on topics including separation of powers under the state constitution, utilities and ratemaking cases, the status of charter schools as quasi-governmental agencies, real estate contract disputes, sovereign immunity, and more. She also conducted research and provided counsel on cases that were argued before the Court. While clerking, she developed strong legal writing skills, a close attention to detail, and a habit of double-checking every factual assertion.
Caroline enjoys hiking, climbing and skiing in beautiful Central Oregon.
