California Attorney General’s Office Clarifies its Information Bulletin Regarding Public Access to Police Records
Information Bulletin Regarding SB 1421 Does Not Impose New Records Retention Requirements

Nancy Stubbs is the lead paralegal/PRA services coordinator in Best Best & Krieger LLP’s ARC: Advanced Records Center, which provides comprehensive and cost-effective support for records-related matters, including California Public Records Act request processing. She is a member of the firm’s Municipal Law practice group and has more than 20 years of paralegal experience working with public agencies in California.
In conjunction with the attorneys and the ARC team, Nancy regularly assists public agency clients with records request responses, answers questions regarding disclosure of public records and prepares administrative policies on responding to Public Records Act requests. She provides in-house training on the Public Records Act for the firm’s public agency clients and has presented workshops and seminars for the League of California Cities, the California Chapter of the American Planning Association, the Southern California Association of Law Libraries, the California Association of Local Agency Formation Commissions, the Orange County City Clerks Association, Lorman Education Services and the Southern California City Clerks Association.
Nancy also works with the firm’s attorneys to assist public agency clients with records retention issues, including records retention policies and schedules. In addition, she is a Certified E-Discovery Specialist.
Nancy previously assisted the city attorneys for the cities of Arcadia, Azusa, Big Bear Lake, Claremont, Colton, Indian Wells and San Juan Capistrano. She also worked with attorneys who serve special districts and other public agency clients. Prior to joining BB&K, Nancy worked for more than eight years at the City of Loma Linda, in the City Manager’s Office, assisting the city manager, city clerk and City Council.
