Clearing the Smoke: 3 Years of Legal Cannabis in California

BB&K Free Webinar

It’s been 3 years since the 2016 voter initiative, Proposition 64, legalized cannabis in California. The Adult Use of Marijuana Act, also known as AUMA, passed with 57 percent voter approval and became law Nov. 9, 2016. What was anticipated to be a savior to municipal coffers has left everyone more dazed and confused. Prop. 64 has raised many more questions than answers, and has created a web of state and local regulations that is difficult for cities and counties to navigate.

In this Best Best & Krieger LLP webinar, Partner Lauren Langer and Associate Henry Castillo clear up some of the smoke and discuss how we got here, where we’ve been and where the industry is headed. The discussion includes:

  • A brief background on legal cannabis in California
  • An overview of state law and regulations
  • What’s new after the end of the this legislative session
  • What to do about CBD
  • What future regulations or rule changes can we expect in the near future
