RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Best Best & Krieger ranked No. 8 on the National Law Journal 500 Women’s Scorecard. Overall, BB&K ranked No. 215 on the NLJ 500 — the publication’s annual list of the largest law firms in the U.S.
The ranking reflects the firm’s 2016 headcount. BB&K has 186 attorneys in eight offices in California and one in Washington, D.C. Forty-one percent of our attorneys are female. According to the NLJ, BB&K is among only 21 firms that participated in the survey with more than 40 percent female attorneys. The publication noted women make up about 36 percent of attorneys nationwide, according to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics. This puts BB&K well above the national average.
The number of attorneys at the firm rose, along with BB&K’s ranking from previous years. This growth is consistent with law firm trends nationwide, according to the NLJ. It is also a reflection of what one law firm consultant referred to as “continuous recalibration” — we make staffing adjustments in response the needs of our clients in both practice and geographic areas.
